Late night blog post

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Its about 4:25am right now, and i’m having a hard time sleeping.. I think its because of the heat (its acutally not that hot yet), its about 26C in my room right now… Anyway, so I thought i’d write a blog, since i’ve been lacking major these last few months.

2007 has been a great year so far. Its only May and I’ve already done so much, and are still planning to do much much more in the not to distant future… Hopefully another European trip, maybe buy a new guitar, world domination?

I recently bought a bike off Craigslist.. Its a FirmStrong Urban Deluxe Stretch Beach Cruizer bike (Long name).. Basically, it means that its a long bike… it kind of looks like a motorcycle. Its all chrome. Doesn’t have any gears. The seat is huge and comfortable. I like it a lot. Its been a long time since I’ve owned a bike, but its kind of reminded me of the freedom having a bike when I was a kid was like. I seriously cant imagine why I waited so long (after living in Toronto for nearly 2.5 years no, how I made it so long without having one. Having a bike, has also changed the way I look at driving (for the better), especially after almost being squished on two different occasions.

However, I do have one complaint about riding a bike in Toronto. This may seem completely bitchy, and assholeish, but I do feel as though bikers who complain a lot about how they are treated as vehicles on the road, are a bit of a whining bunch. I’ve not spent an enormous amount of time on the road, but over the last few weeks, I’ve spent a good chunk (in a bunch of different parts of the city). Its not that bad. People for the most part are very respectful of cyclists. If anything, they’re terrified of causing an accident, so they usually get out of MY way. It makes me wonder that possibly this bunch of people who complain about equality on the road cause some of the problems them selfs by being maniac’s.  Anyway, just my .2c.

Still alive

Yes, i’m still alive….
However, finding time to update this blog has been difficult lately. The Spring European tour was awesome (as expected), i’m busy as heck with work, and i’ve rid myself of coffee (i’m drinking tea for the time being).

More updates coming soon!

Spring has Sprung!

(thats probably a duplicate post title)

Hey everyone, wow, yesturday was a very beautiful day, and I couldn’t be happier. I spent the majority of the day enjoying the sun and spring like temperatures (It was warm enough to go outside wearing a thin sweater with the sleeves rolled up and be comfortable). I can’t express how excited I get each year when the snow and the cold and ugliness of winter vanishes, and is replaced by the beauty of summer, not to mention finally seeing the ladies out and about wearing less and less clothing (its all good). Not to mention patio season, sitting outside drinking a beer with some friends talking about what you’re going to be up to in the coming summer.

Ahh refreshing.

Canadian Music Week, And Now……

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

I had a great time last week/weekend checking out shows, walking around with Brad and playing on Saturday night at Lee’s Palace. Overall it was a very positive experience. We had some notable people out to see us play. Morgan thought that he had a mediocre show, I felt confident with my performance, and I know the other guys felt good as well.

Speaking of the other guys, Saturday was Paul’s final official show with Birds of Wales. He’s playing with a band called “the Dunes” now, and we wish him luck.

Everyone should know that Paul leaving the band was a mutual decision, and as far as I know there aren’t any hard feelings between the band and him. Its been a great time playing with him, and he’s certainly taught me a lot, and I hope I was able to teach him some things as well.

We’re currently playing with a new drummer named Andy. He’s got a ton of experience playing with many notable famous/talented musicians, and we’re excited to see what he can bring to Birds of Wales. He’ll be joining us in the UK/Spain next month, as kind of final test to see if he’s the kind of guy we’re looking for the band.
