Ipod = Dead

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

My companion, my monochromatic 20Gb Ipod that helped me through my drastic weight loss a few years back has finally bit the dust.

I woke up one day last week to head for a walk to listen to some tunes on my old friend, to find that completely randomly, the select button has stopped working… Seriously. The ipod works fine, except the select button.

We’ve had some good times, and some bad times, but mostly good times…. This ipod has came to Europe with me 3x in the last year alone.. Not to mention been on my arm hundreds of times to the gym, providing me with music, happiness, and occupying my mind while I worked out.

Thank you, Mr. Ipod.

I’m going to be listing the ipod on a few websites to see what kind of money I can get for it…. I’m hoping someone out there has a use for a perfectly good ipod, except for the select button. Chances are that someone will, i’ve sold craizer things (broken cell phones).

One appliance to rule them all!

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

Yesterday to my surprise I received a small sum of money that I had earned from a web design job I did a few months ago (we’re talking April)… So, Ive been thinking that I should use this unexpected cash to purchase a small appliance with… something inexpensive, but useful.. perhaps something I will enjoy for a long time..

I’ve decided that there are 2 possibilities…
1) a magic bullet (a mini blender type thing, usually seen on tv)
2) an espresso maker (this doesn’t need an explanation)

I’m going to go cash the check on my lunch break today, and then walk down Bloor street and see what I can find at a few small appliance stores that are in my area…

I cant tell you how excited I am to be able to make fresh salsa with a magic bullet, or even make a nice Americano with a double shot of espresso.

First Post From My Mobile

Yes so, if you know me, you probably already know that last week my fat ass landed on my cell phone (k750i) and cracked the screen…. Needless to say I was pissed, but at the same time, kind of happy cuz I was able to expedite the process of me picking up a nicer phone. I settled on a nice I-mate K-Jam phone I found on www.redflagdeals.com. A good price for a good phone.

I thought I`d try out email posting from my phone since I can now do that.. Tee hee… Also, this is a world phone, so I can now use it in europe or wherever I may be travelling to in the next little while.

So. Hopefully this means more updates! At least once a month! Yay!

HEY!

A new way to look at work?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

I’ve found a new way to look at my working environment. I work at home… about 2 feet away from my wonderfully comfortable Ikea bed, with pillows, sheets, duvet, etc… So sometimes I find it hard to focus on work (and even sometimes getting out of bed).

The last week or two, i’ve adopted a new work guideline… Its pretty simple.. here goes..

“Get as much work done as possible before 10am”

I’ve found that I work incredibly well between the hours of 7am and 10am. Strange but true. Maybe its cuz later in the day I start to think about all the things I want to accomplish or even just the distractions of lunch time (yum), or even just going for an afternoon bike ride or walk. Getting a good amount of work done between 7am and 10am leaves me feeling happy that I got up, and gives me a solid base for the rest of the day. It makes me feel like i’ve accomplished something instead of sitting around like a bum.

Do you have any personal guidelines that you follow that make your work more productive?
