SKYPE + Bluetooth Headset = Fun!

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

I broke down and got myself an inexpensive bluetooth headset off ebay the other day, and it arrived this morning. My main purpose for having such a gadget is basically so that I can give my friend Peter his USB Headset back.

Pairing the headset with my mac was so simple, it took about 10 seconds, and then I started up Skype and configured it to use the headset instead of the usb headset. Simple. I then made my first call using the headset. The whole process took about 5 mins, and I was up and running with Skype and the new Bluetooth headset.

I’m constantly amazed by technology. And even though bluetooth is starting to be an old technology, its still amazing that such power and simplicity can be inside such a small package, such as a bluetooth headset.

HOME! Safe and Sound.

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I’ve arrived back home to Toronto from the UK. After traveling with Moe for close to 48 hours non stop (no joke: car, to bus, to walking, to bus, to airplane, to car), I’m exhausted… I’ve been home for a day already and I’m STILL tired.

The last week in the UK was pretty great, aside from playing shows and meeting some really cool people, the whole experience was awesome, and overall, i have no right to complain… Well, maybe not, my last post about London was pretty angry, and bitter, but thats mostly due to the fact that the city which i think is beautiful, wonderful, and exciting, broke me financially, and ruined any chance of me being able to stay any longer than necessary (hence why i have had to come home a full week early). Good thing I bought one way tickets so I had the option of staying or going on a whim.

So, now that I’m home, expect regular updates, and ramblings. I just wanted to add, that if you want to read about how the whole “band thing” started, click here to read the post. Just about one year later, i’ve returned from tour after wanting more than anything to start playing in a band again, pretty good timing if you ask me.

In the next few weeks, I hope to start my new project “blogsonblogs.com” I’m very interested to see if I will have any success with it.

The Besty Trotwood

Wednesday, August 9th, 2006

We played last night at a bar in London called the Besty Trotwood.. After our experience the night before at the Hope and Anchor where the venue was beyond small (well, for what we’re used to anyway) I at least had high expectations for tonight. Thinking that the venues in London were huge was probably a little niave. It turns out that the Besty Trotwood venue was really an old wine cellar. Pretty much the size of your average living room. It was small, And the stage was VERY small. Pretty much big enough for drums, and for Moe to stand on. The other band was pretty cool indie rock group, i’d say its kind of like your stereotypical current british rock stuff that we’re hearing on the radio now.
After the gig, we commenced the usual drinking… I’m a bit hung over, but i’m sure there are people who were worse.. I was smart enough to drink a bunch of water before I head to bed, so I’ve got that going for me.
Today we’re heading to Swindon. I’m pretty excited to get out of this city. I’m starting to hate it, and I’d hate to say it but I think that its pretty much ruined any chance of me coming back here and enjoying myself.. Thats just cuz i’m stubborn though.
